Itinerary for Half-Day Short Safaris in Nairobi

Option 1: Nairobi National Park Half-Day Safari

Morning or Afternoon:

  • Pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi at  (6:00 AM in the morning or Afternoon)
    • Your safari begins with a pick-up from your Nairobi hotel by a professional guide and driver.

Drive to Nairobi National Park (15-20 minutes):

  • Nairobi National Park is located just outside the city, offering a unique opportunity to see wildlife against the backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline. This makes it perfect for a short safari.

Game Drive in Nairobi National Park:

  • Safari Experience:
    • Once inside the park, your game drive will begin. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, rhinos, cheetahs, and various antelope species. It’s also a fantastic spot for birdwatching, with over 400 species of birds recorded.
    • Your guide will take you through the park’s diverse habitats, including savannah, wetlands, and forests, ensuring the best chance of wildlife sightings.

Optional Visit to the Nairobi Animal Orphanage:

  • Pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi (7:30 AM for morning or 12:30 PM for afternoon safari)
    • Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your Nairobi accommodation.

Visit the Giraffe Centre (9:00 AM or 2:30 PM):

  • The Giraffe Centre is dedicated to the endangered Rothschild giraffe, and it provides a unique opportunity to get close to these magnificent creatures. You’ll have the chance to feed them and learn about giraffe conservation efforts.
  • Interactive Experience: Walk around the feeding platforms where you can interact with the giraffes and take memorable photos.

Next, Visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (10:30 AM or 3:30 PM):

  • The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is a leading elephant conservation organization, particularly famous for its orphaned elephants.
    • You’ll have the chance to watch a feeding and mud-bathing session of baby elephants, which is a heartwarming experience. The elephants are often rescued from poaching or human-wildlife conflict.
